It has become apparent that we need to clarify what is happening with food.

We (Beck, Georgina, Moz & I) made a decision to not have a support vehicle. (for some of the reasons why, see Why doesn't CANC3 have a support vehicle) Because we don't have a support vehicle we need to be very organised and careful about food.

  1. we intend to have communal food for the entire trip.
  2. we have estimated that $10 per person per day will be enough money to cover food costs if we are able to buy communally (this will need to be paid in advance and can be deposited into our bank account. See Bank Details below)
  3. it is assumed that everyone will share carrying the weight of the food. So people need to allow space for carrying extra food on top of their own stuff
it is also assumed that everyone will carry a share of the campaign materials.
  4. as much for practicality as anything else all food on the ride will be vegetarian and probably mostly vegan. None of the communal cooking equipment will be used for cooking meat but the ride it's self is not officially vegetarian
  5. it is very important for our planning that people let us know when they will be traveling with us and if they have any particular dietary needs. We will attempt to provide food for every one but may need assistance for particular dietary issues
  6. if people just join the ride without letting us know they will need to be able to cater for themselves, at least for a few days, as we may not have enough equipment or ingredients immediately
