CANC's fame is spreadingby Evan Wills![]() CANC crew in Maryborough CANC3 has now been on the road for a full two weeks. Each day we get a little bit stronger. The riding gets a little bit easier and we get better at our public interaction and media presence. Since the last e-bulletin, we've visited Bundaberg where we recieved a lot of good feedback from locals. We also made it onto Channel 7 news and front page of the Bunderberg community newspaper and our reputation is beginning to preceed us. Yesterday Robbie was riding down the road in Maryborough when a guy raced out of the pub calling out "Hey! Hey! I saw you riding a week ago." and numerous people have stopped us in the streets saying they'd seen us on the news. In Bundaberg we met up with the local Greens group who help organise our media and provided accommodation (special thanks to Greg for putting up with our chaos at his house and Anne and Philip for providing yummy treats for the road.) Several nights under the stars and beautiful days cycling have brought us to Maryborough. Yesterday and today have been used to do media interviews, organise up-coming events and logistics. From now on our itinerary gets hectic with events in every town we pass through till we get to Port Macquarie (which is weeks away). See below for where we'll be next. Special thanks to Joanne and Gordon for letting us haunt the ground floor of their great Queenslander in Maryborough for two nights. |
