Letter to Malcolm Turnbull signed Courthouse Group and CANC3by Beck PearseMr Malcolm Turnbull Dear Mr Turnbull, Hiroshima and the Nuclear Cycleby Beck PearseAugust 6th is the day to commemorate the first atom bomb dropped by the US in 1945 on the citizens of Hiroshima in Japan. More than 140, 000 people were either vaporised immediately or died in the following months of radiation sickness or horrific burns. Every Hiroshima Day, people around the world reaffirm that this must never happen again. CANC's fame is spreadingby Evan Wills![]() CANC crew in Maryborough CANC3 has now been on the road for a full two weeks. Each day we get a little bit stronger. The riding gets a little bit easier and we get better at our public interaction and media presence. It's been nice spending time in Maryboroughby CassieWell,it's been nice spending time in Maryborough. It seems as though there is a bike culture here - especially bmx's. How pleasant it is to go to lock your bike and have an area dedicated for bicycles. Have been sampling coffees and indulging in greasy fat chips. So far the coffees has been disappointing but the chips have been a delight. Valerie and Hope riding to the camp siteby Evan Wills ()
CAN3 hits the road at lastby Evan Wills Cassie cycling down the Bruce Hwy from Calliope to Benaraby,28 June 2007 (photo: Evan) On Monday morning, nine CANC cyclists gathered without much fanfare in the light drizzle at Central Park in Rockhampton. We received a blessing from Father John Grace and with much trepidation and excitement we road off into the thickening rain. The first two days cycling were not as glorious as we had hoped but it was exciting to be together and finally on the road. We road through almost constant rain down the busy, wet, narrow (but thankfully mostly flat) Bruce Highway from Rockhampton to Mount Larcom. My first touring experienceby CassieWell this is my first touring experience and I must say that I'm totally enjoying the experience. Touring is something that I've entertained for a few years however I've always wanted someone to hold my hand as I've no idea around maintenance of a bicycle and would appreciate someone sharing the "tricks to the trade".
