On Monday 31st July Mclean and Yamba residents are welcoming 5 cyclists who are cycling from Rockhampton to Canberra, then on to Port Augusta. They are cycling to promote a nuclear free future for Australia. Cycle Against the Nuclear Cycle (CANC) passes through regions which are likely to host nuclear reactors if Australia chooses to adopt nuclear power.

On 26th July thirty cyclists are riding through Byron Bay to Lismore to promote a nuclear free future in Australia. It is part of their epic journey to Canberra and beyond. They are passing through the home town of the youngest CANC rider 11 month Hope Thompson and her mum Valerie.

Media Release Cyclists oppose global nuclear partnership For immediate release 20 July 2007 Tomorrow a group of cyclists will converge on the Brisbane Liberal party headquarters to indicate their opposition to the Howard govenrment's reported intention to join the Global Nulcear Energy Partnership (GNEP). They arrive at the Liberal HQ from 1030am as part a campaign called Cycle Against the Nuclear Cycle (CANC). The partnership seeks to expand the nuclear power industry globally.
