About the Ride

Calling all bike nerds

by Beck Pearse ()

bikes are funCANC3 needs your pedal power to make it to Adelaide. Visits to Granma, tendinitis and 9-5 vacuums have taken a slice out of the group lately. A sturdy bike, panniers, $50 a week for food and a puncture repair kit is just about all you need to join us. (other stuff you need here).

Get on yer bike and ride with CANC3!

by Beck Pearse ()

After an amazing 1st leg, the CANC3 campaign will start again. The Southern section will head to Adelaide via Melbourne. Along the way, a mostly new crew of bike lovin' crew will continue spreading the nuclear free message along the East and South coasts.

It has become apparent that we need to clarify what is happening with food.

We (Beck, Georgina, Moz & I) made a decision to not have a support vehicle. (for some of the reasons why, see Why doesn't CANC3 have a support vehicle) Because we don't have a support vehicle we need to be very organised and careful about food.

Cycle Against the Nuclear Cycle has been supported by a number of organisations.

Paying for food.

by Evan Wills ()

CANC3 has an official Bank Account with Bendigo Bank.

For all those of you who will be joining us on the ride we request that you deposit $140 into the CANC3 bank account to cover the first two weeks of communal food. ($10 per day x 14 days)
If you wish to deposit more than two weeks worth of food, just make sure you let us know.

Please send and email to Evan saying when you paid and how much.

Also, for online banking, please put in your name in the details field to make it easier for us to match up deposits. (eg: in the "Description" field of your electronic transfer payment put something like "Food money for Evan" - substitute Evan with your name.)

Insurance for cycling

by Evan Wills ()

If you are concerned about insurance for when you're riding I recommend becoming a memeber of the peak cycling organisation in your state. Bicycle Qld, Bicycle NSW, Bicycle Vic and Bike SA all offer accident insurance for members who are injured while cycling.
